More opportunities for young people
with intellectual disabilities in Kenya
Give young people a future: we teach them practical skills, build their self-confidence and support them in finding work in their own community.

About the foundation
The Marianne Center was founded in 2010 to improve the lives of young people with intellectual disabilities in Kenya.
We offer them and their families new opportunities for an independent and hopeful future. The young people discover their talents, develop practical skills and learn to live independently.
They take training in, among other things, gardening, sewing, IT, jewellery making, hair care and handicrafts. They also work on their social skills and, where possible, learn to read and write. After their training, we help them find suitable work so they can actively contribute to their family and community.
We also work towards greater acceptance and inclusion. Through neighbourhood walks, open days and workshops, we break down prejudice and show that people with disabilities play a valuable role in society.
