Activities

Intake
Before the (young) adults start at the training center they will get an educational assessment at one of the assessment centers. After the assessments we will know what kind of educational training the students need. The handicapped students will also receive a medical assessment.

Activities
The (young) adults are trained in basic skills of life and vocational and income generating activities. Programs we have included in our training center are gardening, personal hygiene, cooking, housekeeping activities, farming, music, arts and diverse handcrafts, of which most of these activities are income generating.

Work
At the end of the training the students’ capabilities will be assessed and they will be supported with the implementation of their learned skill at their homes, the community or they will be attached to an employer. Once a student has shown that he/she has mastered necessary skills and successfully completed a probation period at an employer or in their community he/she can be released from the center. Task descriptions may include packing groceries in supermarkets, car washing, cleaning, gardening, doing laundry, crafts, farming and other basic jobs. Initially students will receive close supervision and support, but in time, as the tasks become a routine and the student can work more independently, this support can be phased out gradually.
