Our logo
« Marianne Center |This logo is made by Marianne Janssen, the sister in law of founder Nelie Janssen. Marianne lives in The Netherlands and has Down Syndrome. She is 27 years old and lives with other friends with Down Syndrome in a house where they have their own bedroom and share the living room and the kitchen. She can manage to wash herself, to dress herself, and to help out with the different choirs in the household. One day a week she is working in a studio where she makes beautiful paintings, like the logo of Marianne Center. These paintings are on display and for sale.
Also, she spends one day in a week working in a factory, performing small tasks like wrapping of peppermints or screws. Three days a week she helps out in the pottery department.
She achieved all this because she got the opportunity to go to school and to improve her skills. What Marianne achieved is what we wish the young adults in our center will also achieve. Marianne is a great example for people with a mental disability. With proper training and guidance she was able to maximize her potential and live a happy and joyful life. We hope that with Marianne Center we achieve the same for our students!
