We’ve had the chance to talk about the activities of Marianne Center to the people visiting the market. It was very successful and we even got the chance to make the Dutch people aware about Marianne Center through a radio interview.

In the first term we taught our mentally disabled students about math, language, writing, drawing, sports, gardening, sewing, beads making, cooking and cleaning. The first term ended end of March, after which the students went home for a break. During this break the students tried to put their gained skills into practice. Our staff visited the students at their homes to check if they put their skills into practices and to provide help in case this was needed.

The second term will start this week. During this term we will focus on income generating activities. We will keep animals like rabbits, broilers, layers and pigs. Next to this we will expand our garden activities, our beads making and our sewing activities. With this our students will learn new skills which they can use while working for an employer or while working at their homes.

In the beginning of 2010 we want to welcome more students and expand our activities and with that officially open the doors of Marianne Center. Because we are entering a new phase, we would like Marianne Center to have a new look. The result is this website and our new brochures. Our sponsor-a-student programme is now also integrated into our website.
Enjoy the new and refreshing look of Marianne Center.

Our partners will also name Marianne Center in their promotional activities. Our donors support us in a financial way and focus mainly on supporting our educational and income generating activities.
